about
Larvae is the second single from the Darkwave female band Neila Invo. This time it’s a sad quiet song which is again inspired by a dream made by Elettra, the singer, where she was covered by larvae. Later with the other members of the band, they discovered that the meaning of the latin word “larva” was also “mask” and “ghost”, so the idea of the song was born.
Larvae has a melancholic trend, you can listen to the perpetual and distressing process of death and rebirth, a macabre verse recited in a bedroom where every single night we lie down until the last eternal sleep.
The nostalgic melody of a viola, played by Nico Giordano (also the producer), comes through the window and accompanies this time flying lyrics.
A video was made by Alessandro Belluccio (Ash Code), it’s focused on gestures and inspired by the echoes of remote dances in the musicians' movements.
“Strangers” is packed with wonderfully menacing electro-goth—late-night horror movie music for vampire dance parties. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2023
Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
